The Wildcat returns for his 22nd season in The Post. Including the 1997-2017 seasons in the Bettor’s Guide, Cat’s record in print stands at 595-498 (54.4 percent) against the spread.
Sunday
Jaguars (+3) over CHIEFS: Cat’s venturing into the lion’s den, here, but he’ll risk it. Even though now without RB Leonard Fournette, Jags are but a flat effort vs. the Titans from being undefeated, and boast an undeniably superior defense. Chiefs’ record remains spotless, but that Monday-night escape at Denver was a very close call, and this will be the top defense Pat Mahomes faces all year. We don’t doubt Mahomes’ brilliance, but the price is right. Jacksonville ekes one out, for one unit.
Raiders (+6) over CHARGERS: Laying points in this AFC West series has been strategic malpractice over the past decade, and both sides are sufficiently flawed to lead Cat to believe that overriding trend will continue. Chargers may be past their September woes, at this point — but chronic negatives (specifically, their vulnerable special teams) figure to leave the door open for the Raiduhs to contend, throughout. Parity, baby. With an officiating-aided win under their belts, Oakland hangs in there, for one unit.
Last Week: 2-0.
Season: 5-4.
