Stewards made borderline call deciding not to disqualify Prince Rahy from second in Grade 3, $100,000 Hill Prince Stakes yesterday. In three-way brawl through final furlong of mile-and-eighth turf race, Rey de Cafi, 9-5 favorite with Javier Castellano up, battled with Classic Campaign to his inside under Cornelio Velasquez and Prince Rahy outside with Eibar Coa riding.

In final lunge, Prince Rahy suddenly lugged in, sideswiping Rey de Cafi, shoving him into Classic Campaign, who almost went over rail. Rey de Cafi prevailed by nose, with Prince Rahy neck in front of Classic Campaign. It looked like no-brainer to take down Prince Rahy and place him third, but stewards ruled foul occurred right as they hit wire and therefore did not affect outcome.

Grade 3, $100,000 Flash Stakes for 2-year-olds was near triple-dead-heat barn-burner. Speed of Sound, 3-5 choice with John Velazquez up, waged no-holds- barred speed duel with Beacon Shine under Javier Castellano, then Union Course, Rich Migliore up, came flying late. They hit wire as team, with Beacon Shine by nose over Union Course and Speed of Sound another nose back in third.
