Holy Cow! Was that Mickey Rivers making the basket catch look as easy as 1978 patrolling center field for the Old-Timers’ Game? On a day where pride was the key word around town, “Mick the Quick” showed the current roster a thing or two about wearing the pinstripes.

KC’s Jason Hammel showed some pride. Held the Jays scoreless through four until Jose Bautista launched a two-run dinger in the fifth. Once removed Toronto went on to score six unanswered and the Jays crowned the Royals 8-2. Latest loss was a blow to our pride and our account now reads 1,506 rizzutos.

Current trend has been ugly. The one-step-forward, three-steps-back dance of doom. Yankees leave town having lost 10 of their last 12 games. We’ll follow them to Chicago, even though Rivers isn’t making the trip. Young Jordan Montgomery owns a 3-0 record in his four June starts. Dangerous time to back the Bombers, but we’re in for 20 units.
