SARATOGA SPRINGS – 1ST RACE – Devine Wind, a classy veteran dropping down to $35,000, was clearly best at 6-5 rallying in clear down center of yielding turf course, but one to watch is Hourly Storm. Making first start since June, he hugged rail to far turn, had no room to run through most of stretch, tried to swing out, finally ducked inside and finished fast for second. Born to Pic, never far back, made premature run while wide to challenge for lead top of stretch but couldn’t sustain bid.

2ND RACE – We Love Rocky, taken back off pace in his first two starts, switched riders to Aaron Gryder, led gate to wire in slow field. Ground Game, 6-5 off close second in debut at Delaware, made run around turn, flattened out. North Potomac, blinkers on, rallied wide for second in improved effort.

4TH RACE – Nice move forward in second start for N.Y.-bred 2-year-old filly Abbagione, first-time Lasix for trainer Rich Schosberg. She dueled for lead with Time for Karakorum to her outside, put her away, but was no match down stretch for well-bet firster Yankee Trick, hot-riding Ramon Dominquez up, but dug in under John Velazquez to hold second, turning back rail bid of Semichi.

6TH RACE – Jean-Luc “Samyn on the Green” got off 0-for-42 duck at meet; circled field on far turn aboard Defrocked for trainer Tom Voss (who also won ninth race), drew off despite drifting down stretch. Tex and the City, 34-1 in first turf start with Pablo Fragoso up, gunned to early lead from outside post, snugged in along rail, set pace to deep stretch, held fourth, beaten length for third.
