Darryl Strawberry’s insistence that illegal drug use wasn’t the reason he was involved in an auto accident Monday were backed up yesterday.

The Post has learned that drug tests done shortly after the accident came back clean yesterday. The only drugs that came up positive were those prescribed by Strawberry’s doctors. Strawberry was taking Ambien for sleeping problems and Percocet for pain and blacked out on the way to a meeting with his parole officer in Tampa.

Strawberry, who was charged with DUI and two counts of probation violation, was given two years of house arrest Tuesday.
