While the suspended Sid Rosenberg will return to both Imus in the Morning and his mid-morning sports talk show today, he realizes he is probably out of second chances at WFAN.
“I am absolutely operating on those conditions,” Rosenberg said yesterday.
While Rosenberg did not want to go into details, he confirmed that he went out with his cousin, Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.), last Wednesday night. After staying out too late, Rosenberg did not report to work last Thursday morning. He was suspended shortly after.
“I’m sorry for what happened last week,” Rosenberg said. “I apologize to my family, friends, and co-workers. I have assured FAN management that it will never happen again.”
Since the Imus crew mentioned Rosenberg’s unexcused absence once last Thursday, the topic hadn’t resurfaced on the station until yesterday when Patrick McEnroe, who once held Rosenberg’s update job, brought up the subject. Seen on MSNBC, a smiling Imus shied away from it, saying, “I can’t comment.”
