Don’t Cha hate it when your exes get into your head?
That’s likely how Grigor Dimitrov feels following a disastrous performance Tuesday at a Wimbledon tune-up match in Stuttgart, Germany. During a changeover, a clever DJ decided to troll the Bulgarian tennis ace by blaring the Pussycat Dolls’ hit single, “Don’t Cha,” featuring lead vocals from his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Scherzinger.
While Dimitrov initially laughed off the tune, his spiraling game tells a different story: He lost nine of the next 11 games to fall to Juan Martin del Potro, 6-4, 6-2.
Dimitrov, 25, who broke up with longtime girlfriend Maria Sharapova last summer, had been linked to 37-year-old Scherzinger since November. Whispers of a split emerged in April, with sources telling the UK’s The Mirror the pair weren’t on the same page regarding their future.
“Nicole is at a different stage in life to Grigor,” a source told the publication. “She really likes him but wants to settle down — something he’s not quite ready for.”
Scherzinger had dated Formula 1 stud Lewis Hamilton on and off for several years prior to her fling with Dimitrov.
