Serena Williams’ farewell at the U.S. Open took over the sports and celebrity worlds.
She fell to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round Friday night, capping her iconic 27-year playing career.
Throughout the tournament, Arthur Ashe Stadium was filled with a “who’s-who” of notable fans taking in Williams’ last moments, including Mets star Francisco Lindor, golf legend Tiger Woods, Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, President Bill Clinton, and more.
The admiration continued after Williams’ final match, with support flowing in on social media.
Williams took a moment to thank the roaring crowd after the match.
“This has been the most incredible ride,” she said.
