Talking on a cell phone from the school bus he still drives, 76-year-old Joe Gaeta talked about the gym he still practically lives in, the football games he still refs and the water he still skis.

“That’s what keeps me young,” Gaeta said. “What’s the point of getting old if you can’t do nothing?”

Gaeta’s son wants him to test out a wave runner, but the elder Gaeta says, “That’s a little too hairy for me.”

His picks are: Giants, Jets, Patriots, Broncos, Steelers, Seahawks, Bears, Titans, Bucs, Saints, 49ers, Colts, Chiefs and Dolphins.

The fan with the highest winning percentage at the end of the season will win $1,000. In the case of a tie, the prize will be split evenly.

Last week’s fan, Danny Zyskind, went 7-7 for a winning percentage of .500. Ed Salerno leads with a .679 winning percentage (9-4-1).
