Area code is merely a number, so says Mike Clancy.

In his letter to the Fan’s Corner, Clancy stated he was a die-hard Yankees and Giants fan. Yet, he provided a phone number with a 518 area code.

“It’s only a three-hour drive,” the 46-year-old from Ballston Spa, N.Y., said.

Every year, Clancy has a bus trip from the bar he owns near Saratoga – the Geyser Sports Pub – to Yankee Stadium for a game. And Monday, he and seven friends are driving down to Exit 16W for the Giants-Saints game.

Mike’s picks are: Jets, Ravens, Steelers, Colts, Lions, Vikings, Eagles, Bills, Patriots, Falcons, Cards, Browns, Chargers, Raiders, Giants, Cowboys.

Last week’s fan, Matt Coleman, went 7-9 with a .438 winning percentage.

The fan with the highest winning percentage at the end of the season will win $1,000. In the case of a tie, the prize will be split evenly.
