A 10-member board will oversee distribution of funds; donations will flow through NTRA Charities. THIRD RACE: Following three late scratches, optional claimer at six furlongs with 56G purse drew field of three veteran sprinters headed by 1-2 favorite Silver Train, winner of last year’s Breeders’ Cup Sprint, prepping for Met Mile in second start of year after finishing dull seventh in Richter Scale March 4 at Gulfstream. Spooky Mulder, 8-year-old gelding making 63rd start, went to front under Eibar Coa, pressed inside early by Silver Train, Mike Smith up. Down backside, Silver Train eased back to third along rail as Primary Suspect ranged up to press Spooky Mulder; those two battled around turn, down stretch, with Primary Suspect reaching even terms until Spooky Mulder eased clear again inside final sixteenth to notch 25th win. Silver Train, spinning wheels around turn, was along to nip Primary Suspect for second.

SEVENTH RACE: Symphony of Psalms, 5-year-old NY-bred mare who raced in stakes in France for most of lightly raced career, was hammered to 3-5 making U.S. debut for Bobby Frankel in first start since last July. Credit Smith, riding 8-1 Viva Julia, with ignoring odds, not letting Symphony of Psalms turn this into runaway. Symphony of Psalms, Cornelio Velasquez up, gunned right to front, but Smith sent Viva Julie up to press pace into clubhouse turn, down backside, to far turn. Each time Symphony of Psalms looked as if she was shaking loose, Viva Julia went after her. As result, after Viva Julie finally called it quits, Symphony of Psalms was running on fumes, allowing Square Dancing, 6-1 under Kent Desormeaux in first start since Dec. 2 for Carlos Martin, to come with late rally, run her down deep stretch, posting her first win since Saratoga.
