Coming out on the track at 6 a.m. Monday, Kentucky Derby winner Orb worked a swift half-mile in :47.18 for Saturday’s Preakness Stakes, galloping out five furlongs in :59.54. Trainer Shug McGaughey caught the Malibu Moon colt whistling the final furlong in :11 1/5.

“Breathtaking,” McGaughey said of the drill. “Spectacular.”

Orb was scheduled to ship to Pimlico later on Monday for the second jewel of the Triple Crown.
