A British boxer who had a 12-0 record is now 12-1 — thanks to a 21-year-old woman who knocked him out during a bar fight.
Top welterweight contender Adam “Lights Out’’ Little suffered his first defeat — which undoubtedly will stand as the most embarrassing of his career — to Kiah Kuzan, a 22-year-old mom, the British newspaper The Mirror reported.
Kuzan needed just one punch to knock Little’s lights out in the unscheduled bout on New Year’s Eve in a pub.
But he won the re-match, which was held Thursday in a London courtroom. The magistrates sentenced Kuzan to eight weeks in prison, a term they suspended for a year.
The petite blonde also was ordered to pay some $1,200 for damage to Little’s front teeth, which probably were a lot easier to repair than his reputation.
She was also ordered not to show her face in public between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for four weeks, according to the Mirror.
Kuzan, a saleswoman in a shop who has one child, admitted in court that she slugged Little, who also goes by the nickname “The Big Man,’’ in the mouth after her boyfriend was ejected from the pub.
It all started with a confrontation between the boxer — who’s due to fight for the British welterweight title later this year — and a group of men in the bathroom.
One man — who turned out to be Kuzan’s boyfriend — was thrown out of the bar by its bouncers.
Before “Lights Out’’ could explain that the man they ejected had not been involved in the dispute, he was accosted by a screaming Kuzan, who promptly sucker-punched him in the mouth.
And, to add insult to injury, she later sent the fighter a Facebook message displaying her smiling picture — and sarcastically wishing him “Good Luck in Your Next Fight.’’
Her lawyer, Michael Ball, admitted his client mistakenly thought the fighter was responsible for her boyfriend being thrown out.
But, Ball added, “She had no intention of injuring [Little] in any way.’’
And he tried to convince the judges that she was ordered to spend too much money on his teeth.
“As a professional boxer of some repute, he may have had some previous damage to his teeth,’’ the lawyer said, according to the Mirror.
