The Arizona Republic reports the Cardinals’ recent re-signing of safety Adrian Wilson “makes re-signing receiver Anquan Boldin in 2009 more difficult.”

Boldin, who has requested a new contract or trade and changed agents in pursuit of that, has not participated in any of the Cardinals’ offseason activities.

Beat writer Kent Somers wrote Monday, “Before Wilson signed, (the Cardinals) were about $6.2 million under and the difference between his old cap number and the new one is about $4.7 million. So that would leave them about $1.5 million under. Clearly, they are going to have to make adjustments going forward.”

Later, Somers wrote, “The club also is interested in re-signing Boldin, who has two years remaining on his contract, but it’s questionable if that will happen this year. Graves has said he and agent Tom Condon will have to be creative to fit a new contract for Boldin under the 2009 cap.”

Boldin could be of interest to the Jets or Giants, who parted with Laveranues Coles and Plaxico Burress, respectively, this offseason.

The National Football Post reports the Jets are considering a trade of RB Thomas Jones, another player unhappy with his contract. A possible landing spot could be with Eric Mangini’s Browns, who may part with WR Braylon Edwards.

Earlier, the Seahawks (and Deion Branch) were mentioned as trade targets for Jones.
