This is a new one.

Friday night’s Virginia Tech-Old Dominion game was delayed at halftime because the Hokies coaches were stuck in an elevator at S.B. Ballard Stadium. The 15-minute delay didn’t help Virginia Tech. It lost the game 20-17 to the FCS foe.

Once word spread, Virginia Tech was the butt of jokes on Twitter. It was just Old Dominion’s second-ever win over a Power Five opponent in program history. The first also came over Virginia Tech in 2018.

Virginia Tech quarterback Grant Wells threw four interceptions including a pick late that sealed the loss.
