Down going into the half? No problem.
Kentucky head coach John Calipari said he was “happy” his team was down two at halftime against Duke on Tuesday night and accused the Blue Devils of flopping in the game’s first twenty minutes.
“For us to be in this situation, I’m going to be honest, I’m happy,” Calipari told ESPN’s Andy Katz at halftime. “We’ve got a little bit of foul trouble, not much. They’re flopping all over the place. In the NBA they’d all be suspended.”
The NBA recently implemented a system to discourage flopping, with offenders being fined for each time the league identifies a “flop.”
Calipari’s Wildcats, ranked third in the nation heading into the contest, lost to the ninth-ranked Duke 75-68.
