Tom Watson is signed on to be an analyst for ESPN/ABC during their British Open weekend coverage, but Watson is hoping it’s an obligation he won’t have to fulfill.
“I hope not to be broadcasting on Saturday and Sunday very long, if at all,” said Watson, who will be pulling double duty at Turnberry as a player and commentator this weekend if he makes the cut.
“That means I will be in the hunt coming down the stretch those two days.”
Watson, 59, claimed the 1977 Open Championship at Turnberry, winning a memorable battle with Jack Nicklaus.
