LOS ANGELES – The Yankees last night accomplished something very few thought they could: They found a team willing to take Gabe White.

In a deal announced during the third inning of the Yankees-Dodgers game, the Yankees sent the struggling lefty back to the Reds for a former Yankee farmhand, left-hander Charlie Manning, a player to be named and cash considerations. That means the Yankees are paying a portion of what’s left on White’s $2.125 million deal that expires at the end of the season

The 32-year-old White, acquired from the Reds last year on July 31 for cash considerations, was a disaster this year. In 24 outings, he was 0-1 with an 8.27 ERA.
