J.d. Drew singled home Carl Crawford from second with two outs in the 14th inning Saturday, lifting the Red Sox to a 9-8 win over the Athletics in Boston after closer Jonathan Papelbon blew a four-run lead in the ninth.
Crawford had four hits and drove in three runs and Adrian Gonzalez had a solo homer for the Red Sox, who posted their 15th win in 20 games. Alfredo Aceves pitched four innings for the win.
Oakland scored four runs in a wild ninth against Papelbon after second baseman Dustin d Pedroia booted a potential game-ending double play grounder. Both catcher Jason Varitek and Papelbon were both ejected by home plate umpire Tony Randazzo in the inning.

In Seattle, Jeremy Hellickson (7-3) picked up where he left off in May, allowed one run and three hits over 7 1/3innings to lead the Rays.

In Chicago, Miguel Cabrera hit a tiebreaking two-run homer with two out in the ninth inning, sending Justin Verlander and the Tigers to a victory.

In St. Louis, Albert Pujols hit his second homer of the game with two outs in the 12th inning to give the Cardinals a victory. The blast off Jeff Samardzija was the ninth game-ending homer of his career.
Dodgers 11, Reds 8 (11)
In Cincinnati, Matt Kemp hit a tying grand slam in the eighth inning for his second homer, and Jamey Carroll singled in the go-ahead run in the 11th to complete a Dodgers comeback.
Pirates 6, Phillies 3
In Pittsburgh, Charlie Morton pitched seven solid innings and the Pirates sent the Phillies to their fourth consecutive loss.
Brewers 3, Marlins 2
In Miami, Prince Fielder homered and Yuniesky Betancourt hit a tiebreaking RBI double, helping the Brewers.
