The Liberty received some troubling news on the injury front Monday.
Starting forward Betnijah Laney-Hamilton suffered an undisclosed injury and will miss the remainder of Unrivaled’s inaugural season.
A Liberty spokesperson issued a statement to The Post, saying the team is in contact with Laney-Hamilton, Unrivaled and her team.
“We are gathering information and determining best next steps with our medical staff,” the statement read. “Further updates will be provided when available.”
It’s not immediately known the extent of the injury and when it occurred. It’s also unclear whether Laney-Hamilton will be cleared to return by the time the Liberty open their training camp April 27.
Laney-Hamilton missed some of last season after having what Sandy Brondello called a “clean-up” knee surgery in July.
She returned after the Olympic break and helped the Liberty capture their first WNBA titles.
