PHOENIX — Most of the work Nyara Sabally has put in over the past month while she’s been sidelined with a nagging right knee issue has happened behind the curtains.

She’s been doing stationary shooting and not much more outside of treatment.

But the Liberty’s shootaround Saturday ahead of their pivotal game against the Mercury that night offered a sight for sore eyes.

With her team going over the final details on one end, Sabally was on the other side putting up shots out of subtle movement — backpedaling to the elbow — in the next step of her ramp-up process.

The Liberty haven’t shared many details regarding Sabally’s right knee.

Sabally revealed in early June that she had a platelet-rich plasma injection in the knee to help with pain and swelling.

Sabally has been limited to 15 games this season and hasn’t played since July 16, which was the Liberty’s final game before the All-Star break.

Sandy Brondello said the team hoped to have her back before the regular season ends Sept. 11.

After shootaround, the head coach told The Post that it’s nice to see her making progress.

“Obviously, we think highly of Nyara, and we feel for her because she’s had some tough runs with injuries. Before she got injured, she was playing great that day,” Brondello said. “So yeah, it’s progressing. … Better late than never.”

Sabrina Ionescu was ruled out for the second consecutive game with a left toe injury.

Ionescu was spotted at shootaround but wasn’t participating in plays during the end that’s open to reporters.

She was seen doing an individual core workout on the side while others were shooting.

Meanwhile, Natasha Cloud (broken nose) and Jonquel Jones (illness) were cleared to play.

Cloud broke her nose last weekend in the Atlanta game when she took an Brionna Jones’ elbow to the face.

“Bri Jones turned with her elbow, per usual, and I was not protected by the referees,” Cloud said. “And I broke my nose.”

Cloud is wearing a custom hard plastic mask to protect her injured nose.

She said it doesn’t impact her vision or breathing, but she added it’s “hot as f–k” under the mask and was sweating profusely.

One player the Liberty have been able to count on each and every night this season is Marine Johannès.

Johannès decided not to compete at EuroBasket this summer and has been the one constant in the lineup.

In 39 games (five starts), she’s averaging 6.9 points, two rebounds and 1.7 assists. She’s also shooting 40.9 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from deep.
