The last time WrestleMania was at MetLife Stadium in 2013 it wasn’t exactly one you would put high on the show’s all-time list. This one has a chance to make up for it.

WrestleMania 35, which is scheduled for 16 matches, includes the first-ever women’s main event in the show’s history, a chance for Kofi Kingston to add his name to the short list of black heavyweight champions in WWE history, and the farewell matches for Batista, Kurt Angle and potentially Triple H.

The show on April 7 is as large and long as it sounds, starting with a 5 p.m. kickoff show live on the WWE Network and moving to USA Network for the second hour. The main card at 7 p.m. is back on WWE Network. It adds up to a night of seven-plus hours of wrestling.

Here’s what to look for as you immerse yourself from bell to bell in WWE’s Super Bowl:

History in the making

WWE removed any debate or breath-holding when it announced two weeks ago that SmackDown women’s champion Charlotte Flair, Raw women’s champion Ronda Rousey and Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch will take part in the first women’s match to main-event WrestleMania.

The triple-threat match has gotten the big-match treatment in its build and gotten nasty on social media. It could propel Lynch to a new level of stardom. She is the cocky underdog trying to take down the company’s chosen ones in this winner-takes-all match.

“[Flair and Rousey] both came in and WWE was throwing grapes at them,” Lynch said in a phone interview. “The only thing at WrestleMania I’m throwing is lefts and rights. And that’s the difference. The two of them were set to be the main event and what a boring corporate main event that would be if The Man didn’t come around.”

This story is about Lynch’s climb to the top after having opportunities slip through her grasp and taken from her along the way. She’s overcome a “knee injury” and wriggled out of a Vince McMahon suspension.

Rousey will be looking to remain unbeaten in singles matches in WWE and Flair will be trying to add being the first double champ to her record eight women’s titles. WWE was able to plant a seed that Flair could triumph by releasing a T-shirt that has her as “Ms. WrestleMania.” It would make the third straight year she could win a championship on the show.

“Sometimes the pressure is debilitating, but I know when I have a lot of pressure on me I shine brightest under the most lights and the biggest stages,” Flair told The Post about what she will be feeling when she walks the ramp at MetLife Stadium.

“It’s knowing that when I walk though that curtain there is only one Charlotte Flair and there is only one Queen in the WWE.”

This could be the last time we see Rousey for a while. There are rumors she could step away from WWE to start a family after WrestleMania 35. If not, we may see her other “family,” the rest of the Four Horsewomen of MMA, called up from NXT to start a dominant faction with her.

Kings of the Mountain

Kofi Kingston’s story of 11 years of struggles has been one of the most compelling WWE has told in a while with Mr. McMahon doing whatever he could to keep him out of the match with WWE champion Daniel Bryan. It’s captured the attention of the fans.

“Anybody who’s going through a struggle or an obstacle they don’t think they can achieve or overcome, they can look at me and see that it possible,” Kingston said in a phone interview.

WWE could give us a very special moment at MetLife Stadium if Kingston beats Bryan, who rode a similar wave of support to the championship at WrestleMania 30. A win for Kingston would make him the fourth black heavyweight champion in WWE history.

The build and story for the Universal championship has been far less compelling. Brock Lesnar hasn’t been pinned or submitted at WrestleMania since Triple H did so back in 2013 at MetLife Stadium. Having Seth Rollins win means the Universal title appears on Raw regularly again, but this feels like Roman Reigns’ quest continued. Lesnar could have his eyes on a return to UFC later this year and need to shed the belt.

Keeping it on Lesnar allows WWE to milk this storyline a bit. Drew McIntyre has stuck his nose into Rollins’ business lately, making him the wild card in all of this and a candidate to interfere.

Can’t wait to see

WWE also already ruined the surprise of Finn Balor facing Bobby Lashley for the Intercontinental championship as The Demon. Still it won’t take away from seeing that entrance done WrestleMania-style for the first time, after we last saw it at SummerSlam in 2018.

Rey Mysterio’s status for his US championship match with Samoa Joe is in a little bit of doubt after he suffered an ankle injury Tuesday on “SmackDown Live.” Here’s hoping Rey can go. But if he can’t, maybe Mustafa Ali gets to be the fill-in this time.

Reigns, after winning his battle with leukemia, is not in the WrestleMania main event for the first time in four years. If he beats McIntyre then he will continue to get the superhero push. A loss means WWE could want him to be more of a character who overcomes obstacles, much like in real life.

Saying Goodbye

Bautista and Angle’s matches are being billed as the last time we will see the two competing in WWE. Triple H putting his career on the line against Bautista adds him into this conversation, too.

Bautisa, who you could see going into the Hall of Fame next year like Goldberg did after his last match, takes on Triple H in a no-holds-barred match. These two will beat the hell out of each other and it will be interesting to see if Ric Flair pays Bautista back for the beating he gave him the night of his 70th birthday party.

Angle has noticeably slowed down in the ring and it’s time for him to step away. This match, while making sense in his most recent storylines, has got an underwhelming reaction from fans. But hey, maybe unlike so many other wrestlers Angle will get to go out a winner. Or maybe we get a last-minute change. John Cena doesn’t have a WrestleMania match yet?

Star power and surprises

Here is what we already know: “Saturday Night Live” and Weekend Update stars Colin Jost and Michael Che will compete in the Andre the Giant Memorial battle royal trying not to get these hands from Braun Strowman. Joan Jett is performing her “Bad Reputation” live for Rousey’s entrance. Yolanda Adam will sing the national anthem.

So who else could show up? There are rumors of there being an unannounced match, so that could mean Cena or The Undertaker — potentially versus Elias. Elias did interrupt Cena at last year’s WrestleMania.

There could be visits from the MMA world. Finn Balor has invited Conor McGregor on Twitter and UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has teased making an appearance to confront Lesnar. Hey, Rob Gronkowski has time on his hands, too
