Jeff Hardy was throwing back whiskey while telling a crowd about his relationship with the beverage just hours before his DUI arrest Sunday, according to a newly surfaced video.

The 44-year-old wrestler was filmed while at a wrestling convention Sunday in Orlando, when he took a sip of his drink and quoted the lyrics, “Whiskey is my best friend and my worst enemy.”

Hardy — whose brother, fellow wrestler Matt Hardy, was in attendance — proceeded to raise his glass and take a drink, before serenading the crowd.

The footage was captured about 12 hours before Hardy was arrested for DUI while driving a white Dodge Charger in Volusia County, Florida. According to TMZ, police documents say Hardy had a blood alcohol content (BAC) more than three times the legal limit of .08, registering .294 and .291 on two readings.

Hardy was charged with felony DUI and two other misdemeanors. He’s due in court for a hearing in July.

The wrestler, who was scheduled to compete in an AEW event this week, has since been suspended by the AEW without pay.

Hardy’s arrest was his third impaired driving offense in five years. He was arrested for DWI in 2019 and was also arrested for driving while impaired after a car accident in 2018. He was also arrested for public intoxication in 2019.
