Jeff Hardy has been suspended from All Elite Wrestling after his alleged third impaired driving offense in under five years.

AEW founder Tony Khan announced the news on Twitter Tuesday.

“We were able to resume contact with Jeff Hardy this afternoon,” Khan wrote in a statement. “AEW does not condone Jeff’s behavior. We’ve made it clear to Jeff that we’ll assist him in getting treatment for substance abuse issues, which he has indicated that he’s open to receiving. In the interim, he is suspended without pay, and he can only return to AEW upon successfully completing treatment and maintaining his sobriety.”

The 44-year-old Hardy was released from WWE this past December, after bizarrely exiting a match through the crowd during an un-televised house show. The company offered to send him to rehab, and severed his contract when he declined.

The 12-time tag-team champion was arrested earlier this week, and charged with DUI alcohol/drugs third offense within 10 years, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Florida Highway Patrol reported receiving four calls that Hardy was driving erratically in his white Dodge Charger. He allegedly registered a blood alcohol content of .294 and .291, both of which are more than triple the legal limit of .08. Police reported that Hardy was in a “stupor” when he was pulled over.

Previously, Hardy was arrested for DWI in 2019 and driving while impaired in 2018.

Hardy’s brother and longtime tag-team partner Matt Hardy tweeted about being “disheartened” about the circumstances on Tuesday morning.

“It was disheartening to hear the news about my brother yesterday,” Matt Hardy wrote. “Recovery isn’t a linear process & I’ll continue doing whatever I can to help my brother be healthy. Being healthy & well is the most important thing for Jeff, his wife, his children & our family at this time.”
