Got a special feeling about this Yankees team as I wrote in today’s Post, here’s the link.

The Yankees still have to prove it against the Red Sox, but there is an excellent team energy about this club and a lot of that is due to the addition of Mark Teixeira. The value of having a talented first baseman is rewarding on a nightly basis after so many years of bad defense at first.

The lineup is deep, too and if a pitcher makes a mistake like throwing a third straight looping curve ball to Robby Cano like Rich Hill did last night, he will pay at the Small Ballyard in the Bronx. Cano’s two-run HR into the visitor’s bullpen was the shot of the night.

There’s also a good buzz building at the new Stadium. The fans are beginning to realize they are at a baseball game and not just at a DisneyWorld version of Yankee Stadium. It’s not about being a tourist, it’s about being a fan.
