Yankees fans gave a Bronx welcome to Sen. Ted Cruz during the team’s loss against the Houston Astros Sunday night.

Several spectators flipped the bird at the Texas senator as he waved to a sea of fans in the bleachers of the Bronx stadium, according to a photo of the interaction posted to Twitter.

Three fans raised their middle fingers in the direction of a waving Cruz and a fourth gave him a big thumbs down, the photo shows.

Cruz was at Yankee Stadium to cheer on the Astros and posted a grinning selfie of himself in seats behind home plate earlier in the night.

“Minutes from opening pitch in Yankees Stadium. #GoStros,” he tweeted alongside the selfie.

Cruz’s photo post garnered less than 3,000 likes, while the crude salute pic raked in more than 30,000 likes and united baseball fans from teams known to be bitter rivals in the comments.

“Mets fan here feeling appreciation for & pride in these Yankees fans,” one Twitter user replied. “Thanks for showing Ted Cruz exactly how we feel about him in nyc.”

Another Mets fan put aside their differences and tipped her hat to the Yankees fans.

“I’m a born mets [sic] fan so I need you to understand the physical effort it’s taking me to type this: well done yankees [sic] fans,” Cyndi B tweeted.

The love wasn’t contained to the Big Apple either.

“Us Astros fans and Yankees fans don’t see eye to eye much, but I appreciate the hell out of this and agree wholeheartedly. Respect,” a Twitter user named MJ replied.

“Orioles fan, stopping by to say thank you to the Yankees fans here,” Scott Caruthers tweeted.

Other Twitter users said the flipping fans were their heroes.

“Not all hero’s [sic] wear capes… some wear ……checks notes ….yankee gear???” Patrick Kelly replied.

“This gives me hope for humanity,” another commenter wrote.
