Dick McGuire now has a horse race named after him.

Yonkers Raceway announced yesterday the inaugural Dick McGuire Trot, which will remember the legendary Knicks guard, will take place Aug. 20. The race will be part of the New York Sire Stakes for 3-year-old colts.

A product of Rockaway Beach and long-time Long Island resident, McGuire, who passed away last month, was part of the Knicks for 53 seasons as a player, coach and scout.

The Hall of Famer loved horse racing and visited racetracks across the country during his travels as a player, coach and scout, including the harness track in Yonkers.
