Every time a politician opens his or her mouth to expresses an opinion about video games, I get nervous. When they proceed to embarrass themselves because of their lack of video game knowledge, I giggle a little.

On Friday, Barack Obama took a shot at – I guess – being hip to the fact that video games exist and said that he wanted the crowd to recruit their friends for his campaign by telling them: “It’s time for you to turn off the TV and stop playing GameBoy.“

Looks like Obama’s partying like it’s 1999, because I’m pretty sure that was the last time I saw a kid on the subway showing any interest whatsoever in a GameBoy.
