Apparently, the answer is “yes.”

Disney’s got a new game coming out for the Nintendo DS on Tuesday. It’s called “Spectrobes.” In the action/RPG hybrid game, players have to save the galaxy by awakening, training and collecting prehistoric creatures (the Spectrobes) because they hold the key to defeating the big, bad Krawl.

Blah blah blah local wireless game play, Nintendo Wi-Fi downloadable content and a compatible online community too.

Each game comes with a pack of four trading cards (uh oh) with codes that unlock special items when you hold them over the touch screen and tap through the holes in the card. Once you’re done unlocking your items, you can grab your friends’ cards and unlock their items too.

If this game takes off, will the Smosh boys do a video about it too?

Anyway. There’s a “Spectrobes” launch event on Saturday (March 10) at the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Plaza, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The day breaks down thusly:

2 p.m. Photo op and autograph session with the game’s Japanese producer, Kentaro Hisai.

3 p.m. “Spectrobes” tourney with prizes including a DS, the game and skins.
