One of the brightest minds in tech can’t even figure out Twitter.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, accidentally posted his personal cellphone number on Twitter, making it visible to his nearly 17 million followers.

The South African-born billionaire had intended to send his number privately to John Carmack, chief technology officer of Oculus, Facebook’s virtual reality wing.

But instead of sending a private “direct message” to Carmack, Musk tweeted it out for all to see.

“Do you have a sec to talk? My cell is …,” the tech billionaire wrote, spelling out the 10-digit number.

The tweet was quickly deleted, but not before people retweeted it and screen-grabbed it, with some even trying to give the CEO a ring.

“By the gods, you’ve done it,” the recording goes. “Somehow you’ve found your way here to me. I offer you my congratulations and my respect.”

Speculation quickly followed that Musk was trying to poach Carmack for one of his companies, and the Facebook exec tweeted out an explanation for why the two would be in touch.

“I spent over a decade building rockets, and founded the Commercial Spaceflight Federation alongside [Musk],” he said.
