Facebook wants to curb your social media usage.
The social media giant unveiled tools on Wednesday designed to help users manage the amount of time they spend on Facebook and Instagram.
In a blog post, the company said that it wants users to have more “control” over the time they engage on the platform.
Users of each app will have access to a dashboard in their settings menu, which will show them how much time they spend using the app each day. It can set limits on daily time spent, and offers an option to mute push notifications for as long as eight hours.
“We have a responsibility to help people understand how much time they spend on our platforms so they can better manage their experience,” Facebook’s blog post reads. “Our hope is that these tools give people more control over the time they spend on our platforms.”
Shares dipped 93 cents, to $171.65.
