Facebook is doubling down on its plans to bombard you with ads.
The social network revealed Tuesday that it will begin rolling out autoplaying video ads on Messenger — its in-house chat platform — beginning next week.
Users of Messenger, which attracts 1.2 billion people monthly, will see the ads appear in their inbox between messages from friends and family.
Stefanos Loukakos, who runs the messaging platform’s advertising business, said Tuesday at the Cannes Lions festival that the goal is to integrate the ads in a way that doesn’t disrupt the user experience.
Facebook has been running static ads in Messenger since last year.
