Google is all for girl power.

The tech giant has asked the Unicode Consortium, the emoji overlord, to consider adding 13 new female career-driven options, such as a doctor, a software engineer, a welder and a rock star (indicated by the Ziggy Stardust-inspired makeup).

Unicode’s current collection offers only a smattering of female characters who aren’t exactly on the career path, including a bride, a princess and Playboy bunny-like twins.

“We believe this will empower young women (the heaviest emoji users) and better reflect the pivotal roles women play in the world,” Google wrote in its proposal.

Women, particularly those under the age of 30, are the biggest emoji lovers, according to Google.

The Mountain View, Calif.-based company also included male versions of the same emojis in its proposal.
