Which is nice, because ‘Halo 3: Tom Clancy Sim’ is kind of a lame joke. Worse, it’s an inaccurate joke.
The problem? Bungie devs make Recon sound like a less-than-complete game and, perhaps worse, like it’s just Halo 3 with a new HUD & missions. It’s being called an expansion like “our Frozen Throne” according to Bungie’s Luke Smith – which is only a good analogy in terms of saying “standalone expansion.”
To quote one Kotaku commenter (who seems to share the same feeling as a bevvy of others): “They’re not even changing the gameplay to give this spin-off its own identity? That’s really, incredibly lame.”
And…
“Faildogs is written all over this f****** thing, let the Halo series burn in it’s coffin already Bungie. They should have remade marathon. “
Yes, I’d love to see some more Marathon.
