Entertainment Weekly’s current issue features a three page spread about the final chapter of the “Halo” story. The magazine was invited out to the Kirkland, Wash. Bungie Studios for an inside look at the game.

Here’s an interesting nugget from the story: apparently every time you played “Halo 2” in single-player campaign mode (presumably while online), Bungie hears about it via an upload to their server. With all that data, they can tell exactly when and where you lost interest in the game or “felt beaten by [your] purchase.” To fix that, “Halo 3” includes all sorts of “rewards and inclusiveness” to encourage players along the way. Sweet.

Pick up a copy of the magazine for the full story. In the meantime, here’s a link to their gallery of “Halo 3” photos that’s got sneak peeks at maps, vehicles and more.
