Instagram is plotting a new way to keep you on its app: hour-long videos.
The photo-sharing service is considering a new feature that would allow users to share videos of up to 60 minutes in length. Currently, users are limited to 60-second-long clips on their profiles, or 15-second-long videos in their stories.
The feature will be geared toward vertical video, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news. The Facebook-owned company has been in talks with content creators about producing long-form video for the platform.
Instagram has 800 million monthly users and is the most popular social media platform for teenagers, according to a recent Pew Research survey.
The new numbers from Pew found that 72 percent of teens now use Instagram — up 20 percent from 2015.
