Leave it to Jack Thompson to try to exploit the deaths of 33 people for his own personal gains.

Not as though Jack has ever made sense to me (his vitriolic rants generally inspire a strange combination of “what is he on about?” and “I really wish he would go away” in most people unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of his ramblings), but he seems to have seriously gone off the deep end here.

GameAlmighty.com is reporting that Jacky boy sent a letter to Microsoft saying:

“Mr. Gates, your company is potentially legally liable the harm done at Virginia Tech. Your game [Counter-Strike], a killing simulator, according to the news that used to be in the [Washington] Post, trained him to enjoy killing and how to kill. You knew five years ago that your on-line game, Counterstrike, so clearly figured in the massacre by a student in Erfurt that the event and the game impacted the race for Chancellor in Germany at the time!“

I hope that all intelligent creatures (say, anything with the mental capacity above that of a toaster) see this for what it is: nonsense.

Jack Thompson is a discredited bully. Heck, he’s even under investigation by the Florida Bar for outrageous behavior.

Even conventional media outlets, like MSNBC’s Hardball, couldn’t handle what Jack was shoveling.

Shame on you, Jack.
