Konami has released a playable demo of “Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker,” the latest in the “MGS” franchise.

Available through the PlayStation Store starting today, the demo – titled “MGS Peace Walker: Demo-Ops” – features four mission types that were previously only on playable at the Tokyo Game Show, plus more stuff.

The PSP-only title, due out May 25, picks up where “MGS 3: Snake Eater” (PS2) left off. Set in Central America in 1974, you’ll play Naked Snake, the man who once saved the world from the brink of nuclear war. He’s now turned his back on the motherland, establishing “An Army without a Government” in South America. Perhaps, predictably, he’s been approached by some men from “A Nation without a Military” and asked to investigate suspicious activity in Costa Rica.
