Fans of MLB ’12 The Show will be seeing red this spring, Red Sox that is.

Sony released the box art for MLB ’12 The Show today featuring Boston Red Sox slugger Adrian Gonzalez on the cover.

Gonzalez, a four-time All-Star, three time Gold Glove winner and the winner of the 2011 Silver Slugger at first base, replaces Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer as the cover athlete for the hit baseball franchise. Mauer was the cover athlete for back-to-back installments in 2010 and 2011.

In addition to featuring one of the game’s premier first baseman, MLB ’12 The Show’s cover struts its stuff by stating it has been the “highest-rated sports game four years in a row.” The Post Game Report gave MLB ’11 The Show an A and recommended it in its Holiday Gift Guide.

MLB ’12 The Show hits shelves on March 6 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
