All you metalheads out there: Sharon Osbourne just announced that Ozzfest 2007 is going to be t-o-t-a-l-l-y free this summer. (She didn’t say whether or not there would be more price gouging than usual at the concession stands though.) If this seems too good to be true, it kind of is. Instead of being able to pick up tickets via Ticketmaster, you’ll be directed towards special sponsor sites to pick ’em up. Still, free tickets so you can’t really complain. Too much.

OK, strictly speaking, neither this post nor Ozzfest are about video games, but it can be linked back to games. Here’s how: Avenged Sevenfold and Dragonforce played Ozzfest last year. Avenged Sevenfold’s “Beast and the Harlot” is one of Guitar Hero II’s face-melter songs. Meanwhile, Dragonforce had a metalicious GHII showdown with UGO.com’s game editors. See? Full circle.

No confirmed tour dates or headliners yet, but the tour is expected to hit New York, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Albuquerque, Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio, Kansas City, St Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Boston, Philadelphia, Hartford, Charlotte, Atlanta, West Palm Beach and Nashville.
