Yeehaw! If you’ve been bored to distraction while waiting for a sweet new PS3 game to launch, get out those smelling salts because there’s a temporary solution. More content for “Resistance: Fall of Man” is due out on March 23, to coincide with the European launch of the PS3.

Sony says there’ll be two new online game play modes – Team Conversion and Assault mode. (“Team Conversion mode is the same gameplay mechanic as the existing Conversion mode except that gamers will play a team and both teams will start off as human and have one life on each side. The Assault mode is based around the concept of attrition where the objective is to wear down an opponent’s defenses before destroying their base.”)

Another new add, is the spectator camera, so you can observe the action from your point of view or free-roam across the entire battlefield. Yay? Meanwhile, matchmaking will also be faster and more reliable, while the old radar will return as a custom game option for “nostalgic players.”

Look forward to a map pack update in May, allowing worldwide game play. Two new in-game multiplayer maps (set in England’s Westmorland and Camborn) will be available for purchase and download. Check out the “Resistance” site for more info on that.
