It’s the new Pokémon Red.

Russian trolls posing as Black Lives Matter activists used the fad video game Pokémon Go in their efforts to meddle in US politics, according to a new CNN report.

A Kremlin-linked campaign titled “Don’t Shoot Us” — one of dozens of groups Facebook has taken down due to Russian ties — used the cell phone-based game to highlight police brutality, which the news outlet believes was a way to inflame racial tensions amidst the decisive 2016 race.

Don’t Shoot Us instructed followers to name Pokémon after a victim of police brutality — the example used Eric Garner — then share screenshots of it near the “crime scene,” the news outlet reports.

It promised Amazon gift cards to the users who submited the most screenshots.

It isn’t clear if anyone actually entered the contest, or if any of the promised prizes were awarded, according to CNN.

Don’t Shoot Us also had accounts on Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr and YouTube — the latter of which had some 200 videos of footage showing alleged police brutality.
