Bill Gates must be having a good laugh.
Windows 10, the latest version of Microsoft’s once-dominant operating system, rolled out this week to by and large positive reviews.
But a few users took to Twitter to share the massively unhelpful message that popped up when they tried upgrading their software.

We’re left to assume it’s not good. Still, it’s better than the Blue Screen of Death.
During the Windows 95/98 era, the software would seize up, the screen would turn blue and users would see “A fatal exception OE has occurred.”

It happened with frustrating frequency — and famously showed up when Microsoft co-founder Gates was giving a live presentation of Windows 98.
