Valve has removed over 100 profiles from the popular gaming platform Steam after users glorified the suspected New Zealand mosque shooter, according to reports.
Some of the pages removed used the name and photo of Australian white nationalist and accused mass murderer Brenton Tarrant, Kotaku reported.
One profile that was removed featured a GIF of the attack taken from the Facebook livestream of the shooting.
The profiles also praised the actions of Tarrant, calling him a “Kebab Remover” and “hero.”
Steam previously faced backlash when the Center for Investigative Reporting uncovered more than 100 hate groups using the service.
Hundreds of other pages continue to heap praise on former mass shooters responsible for the massacres at Charleston, S.C., Isla Vista, Calif., and Parkland, Fla.
Tarrant’s 17-minute livestream of the shootings at two Christchurch mosques, leaving 50 people dead, has caused a significant problem for social media sites as they struggle to remove footage of the attack.
Facebook said it had removed 1.5 million videos of the attack — and blocked another 1.2 million uploads — in the first 24 hours after the massacre.
Valve didn’t immediately respond to a request by The Post for comment.
