What does Cinderella do the night before the ball?
Play NBA 2K11…sort of
Just hours away from their Final Four matchup with the Butler Bulldogs, the VCU men’s basketball team took to the court in a different way to help fight the pre-game jitters.
Head coach Shaka Smart and the rest of the team played NBA 2K11 while they anxiously waited to play against Butler in a matchup of Cinderella teams looking to advance in the NCAA tournament.
“We played 2K11,” VCU point guard Sean Rodriguez said.
In fact, 2K11, which was candidate for Game of the Year in 2010, is the preferred game for the Rams, who advanced to the Final Four as an No. 11 seed before getting bounced by Butler this past Saturday.
“That’s the game of choice on our team,” Rodriguez said.
Judging by the run VCU and it’s players made this year, some of them may soon find themselves in future incarnations of 2K Sports’ popular basketball franchise.
