Pop quiz, hotshot: Say you’re planning to fly home over some dopey Hallmark Holiday or another. You board the plane, only to find yourself stranded on the tarmac for the next 10+ hours because of crappy weather (hypothetically, of course — no airline would ever actually be that satanic). What do you do next?

Yes, yes — kill yourself, obviously. Very good, class!

Or is it? Nintendo wants you little Michael Hutchence wannabes to un-noose the overhead oxygen mask from ’round your throat and break out your trusty DS, instead. They’ve teamed up with Delta (that’s an airline — get out once in a while gamers, jesus) to offer DS download stations in a handful of airports, including our very own JFK (@ terminals 2 and 3). Just stand a few feet in front of one and your DS’s sticky-fingered WiFi will do the rest: voila, a stockpile of new games (demos, anyway) that will just melt those idle hours away.

Sure, the current selection kinda blows — Brain Age, Cooking Mama, Elite Beat Agents, Tomb Raider Legend, with more on the way — but it beats trying to do the inflight magazine’s crossword puzzle that some Schweinehund has already filled out. Erroneously. In pen.
