Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer is looking to boost her Internet video bona fides by rolling out a new service to rival Google’s YouTube this summer, a new report says.

Mayer had planned to unveil the service in April during Yahoo’s annual presentation to advertisers but contract disputes delayed its debut, Ad Age reported on Wednesday.

To entice video creators to get on board, Yahoo is dangling revenue-sharing deals that are “significantly” more generous than YouTube’s, according to the report.

Google gets a 45 percent cut, which some YouTube creators complain makes it tough to turn a profit.

Yahoo’s service allows creators to have their own channels — similar to YouTube — and distribute their content across Yahoo-owned properties, including Tumblr, the ad trade reported.

Mayer hopes to sell ads against the video in a bid to jumpstart Yahoo’s stagnant ad business.
