ALHAMBRA, Calif. — Authorities say one person is dead after a car hit a stalled commuter bus on a Southern California freeway and burst into flames.
Nobody on the bus was hurt in the accident, which occurred shortly before 8:15 p.m. Tuesday on the westbound Interstate 10 in Alhambra, a few miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Authorities say a Metro bus with four passengers and a driver on board had electrical problems and stalled in the high-occupancy vehicle lane, where it was rear-ended by a car.
The California Highway Patrol says the car caught fire, killing the driver.
The crash is under investigation.
