One person was killed and three others injured when a single-engine plane crashed into an office park in Southern California on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities said the Cessna 172 flew into a building in Murrieta, about 80 miles southeast of Los Angeles at 2:45 p.m., shortly after taking off from French Valley Airport.
According to the local fire department, the crash left the passengers and pilot trapped inside the craft.

One person died at the scene, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. KCAL News/YouTube“There were four occupants on the plane,” the Riverside County Fire Department tweeted Tuesday evening. “Three were transported by ground ambulance (one with minor, one with moderate and one with serious injuries) and one victim perished at the scene.”
The department said the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration were investigating the incident.
Images of the wreckage showed the small plane lying upside down in the parking lot of the office park after crashing into the side of a building.
The identities of the passengers and the pilot have not been released.
No one on the ground was hurt.
