A suspected thief stabbed one person at a Georgia mall Friday morning and was shot by police, according to reports.

The attacker allegedly began smashing counters inside the Macy’s store at the Mall of Georgia in Buford, and then stabbed the victim, police told WSB-TV Atlanta.

The suspect tried to flee in a car and was shot by Gwinnett County cops outside the shopping center, the station reported.

Police had not disclosed the medical conditions of the attacker or the victim as of Friday afternoon.

The GeorgiaBureau of Investigations was probing the incident Friday afternoon and police appeared to be investigating an orange Bronco on the nearby Mall of Georgia Boulevard, FOX 5 reported.

It wasn’t immediately clear what, if anything, led to the stabbing.
